Supported Independent Living

What is SIL?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is NDIS funding for the support you need to live in your own home, day and night, with the level of help that suits you. It covers things like personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, medication support and building everyday living skills, so you can be as independent as possible and feel safe and settled at home.

SIL pays for the support, not the home itself. Rent and day-to-day living costs like groceries and utilities are separate. SIL is also different from Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), which is funding for specially designed housing. Some people have both, and some have only SIL.

Where we can support you

We offer SIL in two ways, so you can choose what suits you best:

  • In your own home. If you already have a home you love, our team can come to you and provide SIL support there.
  • In one of our homes. We have our own SIL accommodation across Perth, and you’ll find current availability on our Vacancies tab.

Our team is RN-led, so there is clinical oversight behind the everyday support we provide. Whichever option you choose, we’ll take the time to get to know you first, so your routine, preferences and goals shape the support.

Our locations

North and East of the River: Banksia Grove, Balga, Westminster, Midland

South of the River: Coogee, Hamilton Hill, Maddington, Gosnells, Armadale, Rockingham, Baldivis, Shoalwater, Mandurah

Our accommodation in these areas is set up for both SIL and Drop-In Support. Visit our Vacancies tab to see what’s available, or get in touch and we’ll help you work out what’s right for you and your family.
